KOBAI

the five petals

this is the heart of kobai. every coin is born with a flower, and every coin that blooms burns it — one petal a day.

the flower

at launch, 5% of the coin's supply is locked inside the coin's own contract. this is the flower.

  • nobody owns it. not the creator, not the kobai team, not a multisig.
  • it cannot be sold, transferred, lent or voted with.
  • the contract can do exactly one thing with it: burn it, on schedule, after the bloom.

the flower has 5 petals. each petal is 1% of the initial supply.

the burn schedule

the moment a coin blooms, its clock starts. every 24 hours, one petal burns: 1% of the initial supply is sent to the burn address and removed from the supply forever.

petals only — the flame fee burns more on top.

exact formulas

petals burned at time t

n(t) = min( 5, max( 0, ⌊ (t − t_bloom) ÷ 24h ⌋ ) )

supply at time t

S(t) = S₀ × (1 − 1% × n(t)) − B_flame(t)

your share at time t (you hold b tokens)

share(t) = b ÷ S(t)

share growth after the full bloom, flame fee ignored

share(5) ÷ share(0) = 1 ÷ (1 − 5%) ≈ 1.0526 → +5.26%
  • S₀ is the initial supply, t_bloom the bloom block's timestamp.
  • B_flame(t) is everything the flame fee has bought back and burned so far.
  • the burn uses the initial supply, so every petal is exactly the same size.

a worked example

a coin with 1,000,000,000 tokens blooms. you hold 10,000,000. you never buy or sell. here is your share, day by day.

daysupplyyour sharevs bloom
bloom1,000,000,0001.0000%—
day 1990,000,0001.0101%+1.01%
day 2980,000,0001.0204%+2.04%
day 3970,000,0001.0309%+3.09%
day 4960,000,0001.0417%+4.17%
day 5950,000,0001.0526%+5.26%

the holder never traded. the supply shrank under them. that is what lighter every day means.

who triggers a burn

the schedule is enforced by the contract, so a petal can only burn when its time has come — never early, never twice. the burn function is public: kobai runs a keeper that calls it on time, and anyone else can call it too if the keeper is late. any trade on the coin after the deadline also burns the pending petals first. in practice, petals burn on the minute.

what you see on the site

everywhere a blooming coin appears, its five-petal meter replaces a progress bar:

  • glossy orchid petals are still on the flower,
  • the flickering one is the next to burn,
  • grey ash outlines have burned.

the coin page also shows a live countdown to the next petal and a burn history you can check against the explorer.
